Gloomy Games

Recently my home town has been rather gloomy, but as the day goes on, the weather evolves. This reminds me of how much I have changed this year, trying to find out who I really am, as I make my way as a chameleon. At times I go back into my little turtle shell, sheltering myself from who I truly am. One of my most greatest difficulties it to try to be who I am, but how can I if at times I am left at a stranded road wondering? As the sun fluctuates, and peeks through the clouds for a moment, it reminds me to smile, and to remember it doesn't matter who you are at the moment, it matters about the journey.

Shoes-Sperry Jacket-up-cycled by me
Late Easter night, a spark flew in my mind, and I created the jacket I am wearing in these photos. I cut the sleeves off of an old sweater I got for $5 in seventh grade, and sewed them on to an old jean vest. I really liked the way it turned out, and how the oink (haha I was meaning to say pink) thread contrasts the black and white pattern, matched with the cobalt blue denim. I think I will do another diy like this soon. I have been up-cycling a lot of clothes of mine, most particularly because I need new ones (most are from seventh grade and my style has changed a lot since then).

Thank you so much, and please follow!

Shoes Untied

The other day, one of my closest friend and I went shopping/thrifting. I picked up this awesome vintage wool skirt. It has a reddish hue to it, which makes it ever more versatile! I could just imagine rebel-ish teen girls skipping class and climbing over fences in this skirt, which is ironic because I am totally the opposite.

vintage skirt $8// rolling stones tee $4// assorted bracelets// converse// my dad's socks (they are literally the best)

Finally!!! I just splurged on my very own Gucci bag (WOW a whole $45 dollars). YES!!! It's a messenger style, and is obviously vintage and old. It is authentic, but very delicate, the strap is breaking a bit. It was an impulse buy, which I think are the best. I didn't even have time to think about it until I was at the cash register!!!

THANK YOU!

Worth a Penny or Two; DIY Days

My brother came up to me and showed me how he bent one of his squashed pennies. I put it on my finger, and instantly loved the look of it as a ring. Here's how to do it-

Where I live, it is about 80 degrees fahrenheit, and sunny. It is beautiful. It's just another reminder of me longing for summer. Yesterday was a Friday too! It's basically torture that me are forced to go to school! Haha, here was my outfit yesterday-

I recently got a camera for Christmas (Santa gave it to me!). It is a Nikon AW 1, which is water proof, up to 49 feet underwater, freeze proof, and shock proof (up to six feet). It is truly Gracie-Proof. Here's some of my pics!

Thrifting Tips

Over break, I went thrifting with some friends. We go often, and have master it to an art. We are serious thrifters, but we have fun doing it. If you don’t know what you are doing, you can get very lost, and frustrated. When planning to go thrifting, make sure you have the following;

-Money (I know this is common sense, but make sure you bring actual paper bills. Some thrift stores don’t always take debit/credit cards)

-Tank Top (You might want to wear this when trying on clothing. You never know who was wearing it before you)

-Wear something comfy and light (It makes the trying-on process easier and faster. Also, thrift store can be claustrophobic)

-Bring a reusable bag, or wear a backpack.

-Old Clothes (Some thrift store trade in clothes.)

Thrifting can be very frustrating at times. A way to solve this is to always keep in mind, or have inspiration for what you are looking for. It is always unpredictable what you are going to find. If you have patience it is likely you will find something similar to what you are looking for, but the most exciting/fun finds, are something that is totally unrelated to what you are looking for. Some finds are also cool to up-cycle, and recreate. If often look for pieces that I will turn into a diy project.

Here are some of our finds-
